SnapLifeTools is a small, independent collection of free calculators for the everyday decisions that don't need an app, an account, or a spreadsheet — figuring out a mortgage payment, splitting a bill with roommates, checking a car lease, or working out how many years until financial independence. Every tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere.
Most calculator sites are cluttered with popups, forced signups, or auto-play ads before you ever reach the number you came for. This project started from wanting the opposite: type in your numbers, get a straight answer, see exactly how it was calculated, and move on with your day. Every tool on this site shows its formula and reasoning in plain language rather than treating the calculation as a black box.
Each tool uses standard, well-established formulas — the same amortization math a bank uses for a mortgage, the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for calorie estimates, the 4% safe withdrawal rate research behind the FIRE calculator, and so on. Sources and reasoning for each formula are explained directly on that tool's page, usually in the "How this is calculated" and FAQ sections beneath the calculator itself, so you're never just trusting a number without knowing where it came from.
These tools are built for everyday planning and estimation. They are not a substitute for advice from a financial advisor, doctor, accountant, or attorney where those situations call for one — see the Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
New tools get added as they're built, organized into categories on the home page. Feedback, bug reports, and requests for new calculators are genuinely welcome through the contact page — many of the tools that exist today came from exactly that kind of suggestion.
No account, no tracking of what you calculate, no data sold. A couple of tools (like the Currency Converter) fetch live data from external public APIs directly from your browser to work, and the site may show ads to keep everything free — full details are in the Privacy Policy.
